Saint Edward The Confessor
Before
Saint Edward was a king, he knew the meaning of hardship. Evil and jealous men drove
him out of England. But some of the loyal, faithful people of England remembered
him. These loyal people wanted Saint Edward to come back to England, to be their King.
He heard their appeal and accepted. Saint Edward was
forty years old when he accepted their plea to be King of England.
Saint Edward was
called the Confessor because
he confessed proudly his belief in Jesus and as a Catholic.
He was one of the greatest Kings in England.
Instead of sitting on the throne, he walked
the streets.
He was always talking with the people and asking them about their problems, and helping the
people in England be happy.
England under Saint Edward grew not only rich, but blissful.
He
always prayed to Jesus. Asking for guidance from the
Son of God. He ruled the country of England as Jesus wanted it
ruled.
